Christopher Afanador

Christopher Afanador is an immigration attorney with six years of service in the North Carolina Army National Guard as a Military Police soldier. His time in uniform gave him a deep respect for structure, procedure, and the importance of protecting those who cannot protect themselves—values that now define how he approaches every immigration case. Before joining Vasquez Law Firm, Christopher gained invaluable hands-on experience at Legal Aid of North Carolina, where he assisted vulnerable clients with Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) self-petitions and U Visa applications. Working with survivors of domestic violence and crime victims, he developed a compassionate, client-centered approach that guides his practice today. Christopher focuses primarily on humanitarian immigration cases. He has handled over 300 VAWA cases and filed more than 200 U Visa applications on behalf of crime victims seeking lawful immigration status. He understands how frightening and confusing the immigration process can be, particularly for survivors of abuse or crime, and he is committed to providing clear guidance and strong advocacy every step of the way. Attorney Afanador is fluent in English and Spanish and is currently learning Arabic, enabling him to serve a diverse client base across North Carolina. He is admitted to the North Carolina State Bar and represents clients before USCIS, immigration courts, and federal agencies throughout the state.
